Loaded Candied Jalapeño Nachos

Loaded Candied Jalapeño Nachos

Sweet heat. Melted cheese. Zero self-control required.

These aren’t your average nachos. We’re talking layers of crispy tortilla chips, seasoned beef, melted cheese, black beans, fresh toppings and, of course, Sweet n’ Spicy Candied Jalapeños.

Want a little more fire? Use Blazin’ Sweet Candied Jalapeños for an added kick.

Want pineapple? If you want to start a fight about whether they belong on nachos!

Ingredients

  • 1 large bag tortilla chips
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • Taco seasoning, to taste
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar or Tex-Mex cheese
  • ½ cup black beans, drained and rinsed
  • ¼ cup diced red onion
  • ½ cup diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup Sweet n’ Spicy Candied Jalapeños, roughly chopped
  • ½ cup diced pineapple (if you want to start a fight)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (unless you think it tastes like soap?)
  • Sour cream
  • Guacamole
  • Lime wedges
  • A little syrup straight from the Candied Jalapeño jar

Directions

1. Get things hot.
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. Cook the beef.
Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Drain any excess fat and season with your favourite taco seasoning.

3. Start building.
Spread half of the tortilla chips over a large sheet pan or cast-iron skillet.

Top with half the seasoned beef, black beans, cheese, red onion and roughly chopped Candied Jalapeños.

If you've decided that today is the day you're going to take a firm position on pineapple, add some of that too.

4. Do it again.
Add another layer of tortilla chips followed by the remaining beef, beans, cheese, onions, Candied Jalapeños and optional controversy.

5. Bake.
Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted and everything is hot and bubbling.

6. Load 'em up.
Remove from the oven and top with diced tomatoes, green onions and fresh cilantro.

7. Finish with the good stuff.
Add dollops of sour cream and guacamole and serve with fresh lime wedges.

Just before serving, drizzle a small amount of syrup from the Candied Jalapeño jar over the nachos. You don't need much—it adds little hits of sweet heat throughout the whole dish.

The Candied Jalapeño Company Tip

Build your nachos in two layers.

Chips. Toppings. Cheese.

Then do it all over again.

Because nobody wants to reach the bottom of a plate of nachos and discover 14 naked tortilla chips.

And as for the pineapple?

We'll stay out of it. 🌶️🍍

Good on Everything. Especially nachos.
